Intergroup Committees
ACA UK’s Intergroup has formed a number of committees to assist with specific focus areas. If you are interested in supporting any of these committees please email the relevant contact listed below.
Finance Committee
The Finance Committee helps keep ACA UK finance steady, responsible and able to support the fellowship across the country. They look after budgets, reporting and financial oversight working with the Treasurer and looking at how best to spend funds and guide / advise intergroup, so money is handled with care and in service of ACA’s purpose. If you’re good with numbers / money (or indeed not and this is a developing skill), admin, accountability, have a strong voice / opinion or simply want to give something back in a practical way, this is a solid place to help.
If you would like to offer your support to this committee please email intergroup@adultchildrenofalcoholics.co.uk
Convention Committee
The Convention Committee helps bring ACA UK together by planning and supporting conventions that create connection, recovery and fellowship. From shaping the programme to sorting the practical details, this committee helps make these events happen. If you enjoy organising, teamwork, ideas, or making good things run without chaos and mild collapse, this could be a great way to get involved.
If you would like to offer your support to this committee please email ACAUKConventions@gmail.com
Safeguarding Committee
The ACA UK Safeguarding Committee supports members and meetings when safeguarding concerns arise. We help by sharing guidance and approaches based on experience and what has worked effectively in similar situations before. We meet every 4-6 weeks on Zoom.
We are currently looking for four members to join the committee and help support the fellowship in this service. If you would like to offer your support to this committee please email safeguard@adultchildrenofalcoholics.co.uk
Public Information Committee
Description to follow.
Handbook Working Committee
The ACA UK Handbook Working Group is being formed to create a clear, practical Service & Governance Handbook for ACA UK. This will bring together guidance on roles, committees, decision-making, and day-to-day working practices, helping trusted servants and groups understand how things fit together and how service operates in practice.
The aim is to provide a single, coherent overview of how ACA UK functions — both internally and in relation to the wider fellowship — in one accessible document, grounded in the Traditions and Concepts.
This is a time-limited piece of service focused on producing a working draft.
We are currently looking for members to join the working group and support this piece of service. We are particularly interested in people with practical skills such as project management, organising and synthesising information, and clear written communication. If you would like to offer your support to this committee please email info@adultchildrenofalcoholics.co.uk
