Monthly Step Eleven Meditation & Prayer Group

⚠️ Only on the 1st Sunday of each month

Step 11: “Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God, as we understand God, praying only for knowledge of God’s will for us and the power to carry that out.”

We are a friendly monthly prayer and meditation group for all denominations and beliefs and those seeking/questioning/struggling with the concept of God or Higher Power. We welcome any Adult Child, even if you have not reached Step 11, in an acknowledgement that developing a relationship with Higher Power/God at all stages of our recovery is important.

What to expect from the group:

- We pray to open the group.
- We read Step 11 from the Big Red Book—with a screen share—no need to already own the book. (There is no pressure to take a turn of reading.)
- We have timed share time on Step 11. (There is no pressure to share.)
- We have a guided meditation on the “knowledge of God’s will for us and the power to carry that out.”
- We conclude by reading the promises, traditions, and the serenity prayer.

What the group expects from you:

- Arrive on time (you might not get in once the meditation starts!)
- Cameras on (until we meditate and you can opt to switch off.)
- No cross-talking. (Cross talk means interrupting, referring to, or commenting on what another person has said during the meeting. We do not cross talk because adult children come from family backgrounds where feelings and perceptions were judged as wrong or defective.)
- Maintain the anonymity of the group (irrespective of any member’s status outside the group.)
- Please respect other member’s belief systems and experience of God/Higher Power.

There may be times the group runs over, but you are free to leave at 3pm! Never any pressure to stay!
